Urgent: 8th Pay Commission "Salary Scam" Targeting Employees
Do not click on WhatsApp links promising "8th CPC Salary Calculations." Cyber-criminals are using fake APK files to empty bank accounts.
How the Scam Works
Fraudsters are sending messages claiming that the 8th Pay Commission's new website is live and offering an "estimated hike calculator." They ask you to download an APK file. Once installed, this file gives hackers full access to your mobile and banking apps.
How to Stay Safe:
- Official URL Only: Only use the government's official site: https://8cpc.gov.in
- No APKs: The government never sends mobile apps or APK files via WhatsApp or SMS.
- Deadline: Remember, you have until March 16, 2026, to submit your official feedback. There is no rush that requires third-party apps.

The 8th Central Pay Commission is currently reviewing pay, allowances, and pensions. Employees are encouraged to visit the official portal to answer the 18-month review questionnaire. Avoid any site that asks for your bank details or OTPs to show your "new salary."
